Brooklyn Writers Group
12-Gauge Writers Group was started back in June 1994 by Hunter College undergrads Wendy Becker, Jason Price, Carol Mangis, Garrett Mok, Brooklyn
College undergrad Doug Schwab, and NYU undergrad Heather Robinson. In short time, the Writers Group grew to
more than a dozen talented writers penning short stories, poetry, screenplays, one-act
plays, essays, memoirs, and novels--smoking, drinking, commenting, arguing inside and
outside a loft space on Saint Felix St. in downtown Brooklyn.
Now almost everyone from the original group has graduated from schools, has held jobs in
one publishing-related gig or another, and started their literary careers by finishing
their first novels, staging their plays, and having their screenplays turned into
film. The Group still meets on a bimonthly basis in Fort Greene, Brooklyn
area. If you want more information, email.
We are currently not holding writers group
meetings until further notice.
