My Brother's Halloween

Ryn Gargulinski

My brother cried
broken
blocking the door in a heap
of faux metal twisted heap of
soggy cardboard missing buttons
cracked gadgets gray spray paint streaming down sides
of sodden box rainy night on Halloween. spent.
Dad most likely ate all his Mary Janes just
to make matters worse
for him always younger
weaker
teased -- with not enough sense
not to brave the storm
dressed as
a robot.
