Cant Get The Smell Off Me
Nicholas Morgan
putrid pig goop
on a yellow bloody tray
in an anatomy class
pinkish red steak like
lungs, connecting threw
a puzzle of art to
trachea slobbery
tubular mush
drowning around
myocardium capering
bronchiole clusters
odorous unknown, sickly
I have a sharp scalpel
I'm cutting open
this mess we
all have inside us
i cant help but
think of back yard barbecues
and how healthy
this oinker's lungs look
/ cuts a lung in half /
compared to
my blackened spotted
gas exchanging smoker alveoli's
i cut the cardiac organ off
and its squishy insides
of left and right ventricles
pulmonary functions
squirm around my hand
the epiglottis is an alien
in the gunk
and my rubber gloves
are painted with
pink frothy sputum
I slice some more
tender cartilage
with in tendons
of tissue celled
pork chops
the vital fluids
are all over me
metabolizing
i look around the class
holding my razor
sharp slicer, and
think about slicing
a few of my fellow
class mates up
for a split second
just to see if they
truly have insides
slithery slippery fish like
open heart in my jerk off hand
it looks like
a wet moaning vagina
so I push -two
rubber gloved
fingers in
and finger-fuck it
and the fella next to me
says
"what the hell ya doing?" |
