where i grew up
and lost all innocence
the water pressure is vicious
so hard, angry even,
so unruly
that it tears skin
and bruises flesh
it leaves scars deeper and
farther
than the eye can see.
it is the water pressure
that causes cold hearts
and raging emotions
the wounds on a young child's mind
or so they tell us.
