NICK TOSCHES is the author of the
novels Cut Numbers and Trinities. His nonfiction books include Dino,
which is to be Martin Scorseses next film. His work has appeared in Vanity Fair,
of which he is a contributing editor, The New York Times, and Rolling Stone.
Mr. Tosches has just completed a book about Sonny Liston and the worlds of darkness in
which he dwelt. The book, to be published this spring by Little, Brown, will be made
into a film starring Ving Rhames. This spring will also see the publication of The Nick
Tosches Reader, an anthology of thirty years writing. His collection of poetry, Chaldea,
is available from Cuz Editions. He lives in New York, and is at work on "a
strange and dangerous book called Scratch," and on another, more secret novel,
