Coming in April 27, 28, 29 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
8PM) 1998: 12gauge.com and writers group is sponsoring three performances of a triad
of one-act plays, written by editors and members. The plays reflect the experience of
young, creative urbanites trying to deal with the confusion and chaos that come as part of
being; but each is unmistakably the product of a unique talent. One piece tells a story of
impulsive greed, a seriously silly comedy of errors. The second is a slightly surreal tale
of a not- so-average guy struggling to transcend the inanity that surrounds him. The
third, though truly hilarious, depicts a wrenching moment in a young couples
relationship.
Anyone within reach of New York Cityyou wont want to miss this! Keep checking

--Joe Cordaro

"The idea for "Oversight" is based on my
own experience as an art school graduate working two years for a Reinsurance Intermediary
in the Wall Street area. The battle between survival and dreams is very real. College
loans, rent, and the money for a social life compete with the desire to do what's closest
to my heart. But since tending a Japanese rock garden doesn't generate applause, I decided
to write a play instead."

Lucky Charms by A.M. Wheatley
Director: A.M. Wheatley
Co-Director: Deborah Clifford
"Lucky Charms throws all that serious art stuff out
the window. It is a farce. Dry and almost silly with a splash of cheap red wine. Its
driving purpose is to defy most of the ordinary concepts of the one act play. Well, it's
actually more like one long skit or say, an English sitcom. Well, now that I think about
it there are some very dark and disturbing themes about the effect of dry cereal on our
daily lives. Very, very spiritual. That's what it is. Zen. Well, not actually Zen but more
like a soap opera on rollerskates...rollerskates, now that's an idea... I am thinking
about making it a musical...sort of and Andrew Lloyd Webber does Monty Python...."
--Ann Wheatley
